I don't feel safe about sending in an application/cold emailing anymore. It could be all the rejects I got this year but in 2025 I want to put my best foot towards something I've been procrastinating. I want to send a video resume to work for Google (Gemini AI in specific), and sort of create my own role. And I really want this effort to reach Gemini, not get lost in the tsunami of applications. What would you suggest is the best way to get their attention? There's a part 2 to in the comments.

The odds of landing what you want at Google and only having that as an option, is quite unrealistic and you will only set yourself up for disappointment. Start with more realistic goals. Networking will probably yield more results than just filling out applications. What type of experience do you have? how many recruiters have you hit up?

I moved to the US from India 3 years ago when I married a man from here. Ever since, I have only been employed through Upwork, never managed to get any kind of W2 job, let alone Gemini AI :D. The only industry job history I have is from India ... could that have anything to do with my applications getting turned down( considering I'm looking for copwriting jobs)?

Maybe you should add to your resume that you’re qualified to work in the US? Some companies may think you are looking for a work visa since your resume has only work from India

What type of role do you see yourself creating? Is it a blend of AI and writing?

I’ve been at my clerkship for 5 years (4 with a different judge) and one with my current judge, and I heard horrible things about him before starting, but I assumed they were exaggerated. Turns out they’re all true, and I’ve had to start therapy to deal with him and the incredibly toxic environment. I’m trying to get out ASAP b/c he also has a history of firing clerks without cause or notice, but I think I’ll only be able to give two weeks notice if i get the job I’m interviewing for. Thoughts?

I interviewed at Google and cleared all onsite interviews back in July. Then came the hiring freeze and my role was de-prioritized. Now I'm being called for another position which I applied through the same recruiter before for the same group but different role. My question is will Google reuse the positive feedback and will it help/add value to this new position?

3L with mostly A’s and B’s. I am having the worst luck trying to find work for after school and my experience working with lawyers has left me completely dejected. I cannot get an interview to save my life. I was so excited to get an externship summer after 2L with a small business and IP firm only to get yelled at on the phone a few times for not doing an assignment correctly. Mind you, I was working FOR FREE as it was a school connected externship. That made me never want to work in the law.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)

So I’m in industry from big 4, and a colleague with same yoe comes from MBB. High paying tech firm. I think I work harder and produce quality content at speed, but they can hold executive conversations that tend to impress senior stakeholders.

Big 4 produces work horses and MBB produces leaders. Also they could be a work horse too since I don’t have full visibility.

Anyone have similar experiences or do I just suck at executive stakeholder management?
