I don’t see a lot of folks with diabetes at my firm or in consulting in general. My teams are always surprised to hear if I tell them I have diabetes (which I never do really with exceptions). They think it is a condition much older folks get. Can we do a quick poll? Hit “Helpful” if your age is 60+, , “Light bulb” if 50-60, “Funny” if 40-50, “Star” if 30-40, “Like” if less than 30.

I'm starting to realize that a lot of my life problems are from me trying to treat my depression with alcohol. This is the most sober I've been in a long time and generally I feel a lot better but it would be so easy to get drunk. Physically the consequences are what are keeping me from doing it. It makes me feel really good though and I miss the high, I am grateful that I can resist it now but at least temporarily it was a cure that worked it made me feel accepted and whole.

My only limitation are the need to sustain a life and time

Do you all sometimes feel overwhelmed by all the self care tips you see online. Gua sha, sleeping mask, satin pillowcase, this body wash, that scrub, dermaplaning. Ok. I am teaching music in person and when we have a case of COVID in the school, I push into the classroom for 10 days. I was told today with 5 minutes to prepare that we had a case, I couldn’t teach in my room and I couldn’t do the ukulele unit I had planned. Under contract for nearly 1.1M. Wife and I are at HHI $315k. Will go up in the future, $400k in 3 years and $500k possible in 5-7 years. Hey all. After 8 years being pre-diabetic, my A1C is now over 7 and doctors says I’m diabetic. Looking for any tips on healthy eating. Snack foods that are low in carb in particular! I love things that are crunchy or chocolatey which obviously is an issue. Also love cheese.
