7 and 66 minimum. The rest of the industry doesn’t care about you without those licenses.
Thank you for the input. The minimum requirements for the role is SIE and Series 6, but I would be taking the 66 while being trained.
An internship, like a good interview, may not get you in a company no matter what it seems. Did you check to see if the jobs that you want to get into have in common? You may need the courses in LinkedIn to help acquire them, but since you have absolutely no experience in them, and that they are mostly commissions, it may not be a wise direction to head into. You may need to get a job in an insurance company 1st to get some experience, then move into a bank or financial investment firm to hopefully get to reach your goals. But since you need experience to get the job, and you need the job to get experience, you may need to pursue another career track.
Yes, I've been with a financial securities firm for awhile, but haven't done any business with them due to military duties. It was more of a self-employed position. Instead, I chose to work on the SIE & now I'm going to apply to retail banking positions since that compliments my plan to become a retirement planning specialist.
Schwab, Vanguard, Fidelity, Merrill, Edelman, Alight, MS are all likely hiring entry level and sponsoring for exams.
