What I feel is if you have knowledge then people will treat you nicely and you'll get lot of respect and if you stuggle to understand minute things you'll be treated bad.
Prove me wrong.
That's rubbish. For what these evaluation process , snapshot discussions, check ins and ratings are there for ? Are they not there to tackle these things. If a person is not knowledgeable he / she should be given proper feedbacks and coments on the way a resource works. No one has the rights to ill treat any resource , as if all others are born genius and capable of delivering proj single hand .
@author,
Have you been assigned a counsellor or a buddy yet ? If so, I would suggest you speak to them. They are there to help you and make sure your health doesn’t take a toll at Deloitte. Be as frank as possible and tell them the whole truth
If they are not assigned a counsellor / assigned a bad one, I would suggest you either take it up with the perpetrator, saying “ hey, I get that I am new and still learning the ropes, but I would appreciate it greatly if you would tell me what I’m doing wrong or at the very least refrain from talking down to me” if it gets too far, you can even say “I don’t want to be put in a position where I have to report members to HR for engendering a hostile work environment”
Remember your mental health is the biggest thing here, this is just a job, you will find a better one, don’t let it take a toll on your mental health. I’m not telling you to quit, I’m just suggesting you exercise your options
Something similar happened to me once where I was ridiculed and my point was dismissed in a public meeting by someone one level senior to me.
I didn’t do anything then, but after the meeting I took the person aside and explained my point to them, and told him straight to his face that he shouldnt ridicule me if he doesn’t understand what I’m saying. He never did that again .
Regardless of anything, be vocal and convey your feelings in the right way. Something like 'I may have mistaken a few times but I feel XYZ when constantly pointed in a certain way. I am trying my hard to get to the speed and I would like to have you guiding me through this'

2 options
1. Report and create a better work environment, or
2. Suck up and realize that this happens at every point in life. So use it to make urself stronger. As far as tears are concerned, they are good for you. Use it to build a stone heart
Hi, i also faced similar issue in Deloitte.. but it got better with time.. people at Deloitte have certain expectations from new comers.. or they want you to toughen up and learn..
I don't what it is.. my reporting manager said for initial months there always are few tuffs then things settle down.. you learn to work the way your manager wants and most importantly your manager starts trusting you..
I think this is the point.. the trust factor.. for example if earlier i used to make mistakes no matter how small, i was scolded but now i am just told to be careful and whenever i get tensed about any mistakes, i am told its human to err.. very huge deviation from previous response..
I think earlier my reporting manager didn't trust me. He would think i am lazy or not responsible towards my work.. but now he knows i am dependable person and its only human to err..
I would suggest give it some time.. take all this in your stride.. believe me this is exactly what i had gone through..
It hampered my self esteen a lot that i started second guessing everything.. but things have been better lately.. they want you to give your 200% in work

I completely agree... It can be related to trust. ..
Escalate this to higher management, make sure you have enough proof. Start ignoring them don't give fuck. On the other side stop thinking about office work and people after office hours, listen music, travel, Meditate, take a break, do whatever you like instead of work or just do nothing. Like if you read this and if it was helpful.
This happens in every company, if you are hardworking this will be always be stuck in your throat. All I suggest is ignore and start doing smart work and mails are the best way to get rid of this problems and the best way to completely stop this is mail and also add your manager in the communication thread, always works as a charm.
Have faced the same thing. But remember, you should win through actions not arguments.
Omg! Seriously a company like deliotte is expected to be more human and rich in culture. This kind of behaviour is off-putting and not tolerable.
Probably you should talk to you HR. Maybe they can change your team.
Or probably you should take a break and hone your skills and try applying for other companies. Somewhere you and your work shall be respected.
Give it back to them if you need the money. Pick fights.
