I feel so lonely at work. I'm quite reserved and quiet so I guess it's inevitable that people do not notice me, But I'm also set up in a corner cubicle in a big office so I only interact with people when it's work-related. The people who talk to me are either very busy, across the office, or recently laid off. My boss also does not care much about me or my work (because he trusts me but still). It reminds me of the employee who passed away in the office and only found days later.

This is twice now in back to back weeks my boss has asked me where the disconnect was in our communications because I didn’t deliver on what “was asked”, even though I know damn well what was asked and what was done were the same thing. I’m not sure if he’s changing the meaning or isn’t communicating what he’s envisioning or what but it’s embarrassing to be called out like that, and to have people think you’re the dumb 23 year old.

I got an email from a Cybersecurity Advisory Partner with the subject "Catch-up". Last week we all rolled-off from project abruptly b/c the client terminated the contract. Am I getting laid off?

Anyone deal with this before: I inherited a severely under developed team including a sr analyst who clearly was doing the bare minimum, if that. Over the last 6 months I have had to coach him and correct simple mistakes in his work and recently it got so bad that I told him he would receive a low rating in his evaluation. MBB AP about to exit to non-FAANG tech. Would you expect a signing bonus and/or pre-determined severance pay if things don't work out with the new company?
