Anyone know what other fishbowls are like?
Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

Remote finance jobs would be difficult to find because you are entry level and there just are not many fully remote positions. Though you can find many that are hybrid.
I’m not sure. I haven’t done that work, it probably depends on the employer.
What do you even want to do? You’ve given no indication
Thank you for responding.
Filter your search to entry level finance roles
Thanks for the reply. I have done that and not much traction really.
Any ideas what should I do? Role titles/companies I should go for?
Look up your seniors in LinkedIn and find out what roles they are doing. Apply to those roles and reach out to them for referrals and help with interviews.
In this day in age, you should ideally be networking your butt off in order to a) secure referrals b) piece together the professional landscape as much as possible so you can articulate your needs moving forward. With my own personal story: I got my first position through being interviewed by a college alum who was at the company for a long time (no prior relationship, company was Accenture). I then got my first project by networking with a friend. If you don’t have that: then cold network, just reach out to schools alumni on LinkedIn or use an alumni database for contact info. As you talk to people, you’ll crystallize what you want to do, and then you can start changing your resume to articulate the verbiage required to show you have the skills necessary to succeed in entry level roles in that area.
What is the name college, you graduated recently?
Go through recruiter companies who specialize in finance roles, it the easiest way to secure a position.
They get paid a finders fee by your new employer, not at any cost to you.
