I have a possible opportunity at Protiviti. Coming from big4 and wondering if Protiviti has fairly similar perks. I’ve read the 2022 benefits guide and it gave a oddly low PTO count of 16 days. Is this true and what about a holiday disconnect in the December time period? Are there any other hidden perks that are awesome? Already heard WLB is better and the culture, but I feel like I’ve gotta find that out first hand. Protiviti

Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

Hi all, I just finished my recruiter phone interview today for “Risk Prevention Escalations Specialist, Global Risk Operations” role and it went well. I have an interview on Friday with the hiring manager. Does anyone know what kind of questions they’ll be asking? I only have 2 days to prep..

None. Stay home and stop making flight attendants and service workers risk their lives because you are bored.

OP flying contributes nothing to the flight crew keeping their jobs. That is pennies compared to billions of profits mismanaged by the airlines over the past several years
Airlines spent 20-30+ billions in profit buying up their stocks to bump up their price instead of saving up for a rainy day fund. Covid hits and they ask you, me, and the American taxpayers for a bailout of similar amounts. Then they say they'll start laying off their employees as soon as the government freeze ends in October.
Let them go bankrupt for mismanagement and have better entrepreneurs buy the company and manage it better.
Also don't risk the lives of others by taking unnecessary travel. Be a good person.
Drive to a place and use the airline credits for hotel credits instead. The hotel experience is much safer, and you’re likely able to pivot and cancel the trip if you face another lockdown.

No place safer than your home 🙂

"Quarantine is not that hard"?
VP2, you really need to get out of your privileged bubble complete with indoor/oudoor pools, golf courses and FT house staff, and smell the reality.
Nope. Don’t be selfish.
Pro
Reminder that you can use airline miles to rent cars and other things so you don’t have to fly.
Don’t go anywhere unless you plan on quarantining in place. Unless you want to pot is tail be a super spreader. It’s not worth it even if you get out of it “healthy”
I’d say somewhere with outdoor activities (Colorado. California. National parks). Watch out for state quarantine rules. We just had to cancel a trip to Rhode Island (understandable but still bummed).

The virtue signaling on this post is insane, but expected by now. As a “terrible person” who just traveled due to a family emergency, Puerto Rico is a good option. A bit of a pain with the tracing getting in, but once you’re there, they’re having extremely nominal issues with containment (it’s safe) and have few actually enforced restrictions. Caribbean vacation with no passport required.
I have American Southwest and spirit. I’m eyeing Vegas and San Diego

Look at Covid cases and go there. Flying was perfectly fine if you go with an airline which takes this thing seriously (don’t fly united or american)

Flying is safe now?
I have flow three round trips in the last month and a half. Bring your own wipes. Wear your mask. Have spray hand sanitizer. I did all these things and have been fine and Covid free
If you are on the Eastern side of US, check out PA’s state park called Ohiopyle. Great water rafting, hiking, 2 Frank Loyd Wright homes, etc.
get some video games and stay the #$%# home
I recommend playing armchair traveler.

Go somewhere where you can do outdoor stuff. Denver has a lot of parks and trails outside you can do. I went to the lake that was outdoor. Honestly as long as it’s not a hot spot you should be fine.
I’d avoid American and United. Consider somewhere you can do lots of outdoor activities and keep track of any restrictions you may have going there and when you get back to your home state
