Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase
Hi everyone,
I have a total 9+ work ex in Devops and Release Management. Did an executive mba with a goal of breaking into Program management but got recruited into Management Consulting . In this company for the past 3 months.
I feel that my overall skills are better off in a TPM/Program Management role.
My overall experience makes me eligible for most PM roles.
My question is how do I prep for a TPM role since I don’t have development or Scrum Master exposure. Amazon India VMware BrowserStack Inc.

Me too! Which practice?
Op, out of curiosity, how many years of experience do you have?
Any specifics on service line/practice?
Depends on practice
Yeah FSO advisory just means financial advisory but we have all the same practices within it as normal advisory so you’ll have to be more specific.
Can’t disclose too much. But this is for FAAS. And they are looking for people with regulation and risk experience in banking. So I assume this is for CECL implementation.
@P1: I have about 5 years of experience in industry and consulting
Wonderful how ladies are lowballed. I am definitely going to push for M. Eight years exp.
Ahhh yeah FAAS is in FSO assurance (the audit practice of EY) not advisory so hopefully you have an accounting background
I am a CPA but not by trade. Was in corporate finance in industry before. Are they just looking for auditors?
@P1: do you have an accounting / auditing background?
It’s not traditionally financial audits but it is 100% audit related - more about 'what are the insights we can get from the audit’ sorta thing. I assume the CPA was required to even get in the door. We have info about FAAS on our public home page, I would definitely start there. While FAAS is definitely the more interesting type of audit work, If you want consulting you want FSO advisory, and this is not that.
