Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Anyone with recent experience recruiting for Boston Consulting Group? Got in touch with a recruiter through referral, was directed to submit an application and already finished my pymetrics. Anyone know when I would be able to hear back and what the hiring timeline looks like? Recruiter suggested to get back in a few weeks but isn’t it too slow? McKinsey sent me an invite for 1st interview in a few days after they received my referral.

If someone is really reviewing your resume, they’ll look for YOE+ your responsibilities on the job, not just go off title.
What about the expectation that someone that's good at their job will get promoted? I understand that's not the real world, but if you have two people with similar careers and resume bullets, but one has the higher title and you only have one interview spot left, wouldn't you go for the higher title? I imagine that scenario is not uncommon (multiple the numbers by 10)
This doesn’t answer your question but try to get your cv to answer the ‘why am I moving’ problem. Because a lot of folks just assume you might just try to get a new job just to negotiate your pay/ title at your current one especially if you’ve stayed at your firm for that long.
You mean do people lie and inflate their title on their job apps? Yeah. But that's part of what the background check process pre-on boarding is designed to catch. I would recommend reviewing your resume and cover letter to make sure your experience is coming thru - because being denied because of a title makes no sense if your experience suggests you are a qualified candidate
Agree with FM1
While it may make no sense to reject someone with the right experience, titles are just a simpler and more tangible way to screen
