I have Marriott chase card and AMEX SPG card. Now since both the chains merged, how do I close AMEX card without it impacting my credit score?

I am a PhD student in chemistry on my final year, with some publications but no industry experience. What advice could you give me to get Research Scientist positions at big companies? Had a consultation with an attorney for legal advice on my options to address a late filing for a taxable event. They recommended me two options: file or not file. In order to help him with the consultation he asked to send him additional information like bank statements and work authorization which I sent.

If I decide to not file or go to another attorney if the fees are high, can the attorney still report me or whistle blow me to the tax authorities?

When's a good time to jump/transition between in house roles? I'm currently in house counsel (3 years big law, 3 in house).
