I’m about to start an internship at IBM for UX Research. I’m super excited about it, and was wondering if anyone could tell me about the design culture there or how the company is for designers? So far online I’ve only heard about the company from consultants or software engineers. For more reference I’ll be working in Austin.

I previously worked at both (but not in CA). I enjoyed both firms, the people, and the work, but I’d choose FP over JL 10 times out of 10. Better base comp, way better bonus possibility, more transparency about partnership requirements, way less EPLI work.
That being said, local office dynamics matter, too. I think I worked with around 8 LA attorneys at FP, and I liked all of them. I don’t think I worked with any LA people at JL (or if I did, they’re no longer there), so I can’t really weigh in there. Through the grapevine, I’ve heard that JL’s CA offices are drowning in work though, but someone closer to that situation here can definitely weigh in more authoritatively than me.
Can’t say much about JL but FP is growing rapidly, both in terms of headcount and office openings. Vibes are good, can confirm that partnership and salary/bonus info is pretty transparent
FP for sure.
Heard way better things about FP, especially in benefits.
I heard that fishy philip associates in la are required to be management-side losers. Same might be true of jack locus not sure.
