Get familliar with the ADDIE system, companies always like that 😁.
Just advice - department managers think training fixes everything and they can throw a lot in your lap. It's helpful to slow down and make sure you understand the need, and ensure it is a knowledge gap before you dive into it.
Understanding context vs content. What really needs to be delivered live vs on demand. So many crappy live trainings that take space up for concepts that can easily be done on demand and all they did was talk at the learners and read from slides. Understand adult learners - they like to share experiences - not that that should be you’re only training, but I’ve found sprinkling in panels, breakouts, cohort groups always perk up the learner.
Join your local Association for Talent Development (ATD) they have the resources you are looking for.
