I have so much anxiety when it comes to communicating with friends and family. I want to reach out but don’t want to be a burden or have nothing to talk about. How do you get over this?

Definitely consider therapy, it could be more than an “attachment style”, it could be trauma related from childhood or another traumatic event

You need a professional to dig deeper with you

This sounds similar to my situation. If you can, start small with texts or FB messages… “Hey cousin! Just reaching out to say hi! We haven’t seen each other in a while and wanted to see how you’re doing. How’s everything?”

This is just an example, but something like this keeps things light and text is (presumably) a low barrier to entry because you can progress to a call or in person meet. And you have to have something to talk about because you’re asking them to talk about themselves. Low pressure for you.

I understand anxiety comes with this, but if you want those relationships you have to start somewhere.
(I’m speaking to myself too…)

Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Cost aside, is this feasible / worthwhile to go thru the effort / finding the right fit, only for 4 months?

How do i find out if I will be happier divorced or more unhappily staying married. 2 kids; 2 & 4 YO. They don’t hear the arguments after bed time and don’t understand the bruises yet but I know it’s just a matter of time. It would be so much harder not seeing my kids everyday than living with the pain, loneliness and lost friendships. But I’m tired. And so sad. Lost. So alone. How to deal with a relationship trauma? Especially when your ex has moved on.

Has anyone dealt with coming to terms with an emotionally abusive relationship? I struggle to admit this (because more drastic examples come to mind), but my therapist mentioned that things like yelling/throwing things/blocking me from leaving the room are also abusive traits my ex demonstrated. It makes me feel alienated from myself — like “how could I have allowed myself to be treated like that?”. Also feeling ashamed to tell anyone

Just wanted to quickly say, that I feel so depressed and hopeless, especially with my life sucking job at this big 4. BUT I feel a little better knowing I’m not alone. It gets hard when my culinary teacher and digital design friends can’t relate to how demanding our jobs can get and then I look at my coworkers who seem to have it all. So this feels like a safe space!

I was dating someone for about 2.5 years and then we broke up because of COVID and the long distance was making it too difficult to continue. I don’t understand how someone can lie about loving you for 6 months. We were together for almost a year (broke up a week before our anniversary). I said I love you first and he said it back. I asked for more reassurance last month with saying I love you more often. Now all of a sudden he said he didn’t know if he loved me and that love meant marriage for him. Okay well great thanks for telling me this now, 6 months after it was initially exchanged. I don’t understand how he could do that.

Considering moving to Denver to be closer to nature and family. Husband and I can easily transfer jobs. No kids yet but ideally soon.
