I just gain my bachelors in Mechanical engineering and I’m currently working as an estimator for a mechanical contractor. And I’m looking to do more within my field. Is it necessary for me to get the PE; Sigma six certification; PMP certification etc. Or can I just teach myself skills like coding and solid works and just gain experience.

Recently accepted a job in oracle/financial systems consulting. I have some experience in systems but mostly FP&A and operations. I have a few cloud certifications as well.

How tough will it be for me to get up to speed and are there any recommended trainings I should do? Please let me know!

I have been practicing in creditors rights/foreclosure in PA & NJ for around 4.5 years. Due to the foreclosure/eviction moratoriums there is no work to do and I was furloughed. I am looking to change directions- what is the most logical next move?

I spent a year in tax investigations where I believe I was thriving ( I was going to be an assistant manager in July 2023), I had a lot of assistant manager jobs, I even drafted a Code 9 report to HMRC which my manager said was 80% of an actual report, he then added the 20% and submitted it.
After I realised I couldn't maintain all the unpaid overtime I was working I decided to take a turn and go to compliance, so now I work in CT compliance. I feel very surpressed.

Considering joining a small 50-person company as the only attorney (prior attorney is retiring). (I am currently in-house at a F50). For others who have done the same path, what surprises did you have when moving from a large company to a small one?
