Congrats! Not a d*mn clue, but congrats!
I think NY law stipulates that you have to charge hours to your home office no matter where you work from. I can be wrong but please double check.

If you spend less than 50% of the tax year residing outside NY I think you can file as a part time resident and save on the taxes. If you were a full time resident you’d pay NY tax even on income earned in states like FL, TX.
Congrats!!
If you don’t relocate to NY, then yes. What matters is your home of record. But as you mentioned, when you’re in the office or in NY for a project then you have to pay state taxes but your home state will likely give you credit for paying out of state taxes anyways.
FYI - you don’t get a credit from your state for out of state taxes, because you don’t file a state tax return.
Thanks for the insights, everyone! Much appreciated!
You should ask your recruiter and talent consultant. You may want to inquire about being tagged to a different office while WFH to get the tax benefit. It may result in comp changing if a different geo tier (difference of 5-10% but could be worth it depending on taxes)
Hahahahahaha .... no chance, dude.
You pay taxes based on the state you currently live in, so no you are not taxed on income say like in Florida with no state income tax.
