I just turned down an offer because they switched the contract from remote to hybrid. 3 days in office at the very last second. They claimed it was a corporate mandate that came down during my final interview, but it felt like a total bait-and-switch. I’m seeing this happen more and more. Am I being too stubborn by holding out for 100% remote?

I have family members who are inside claims reps for a large company. The company sends out emails 4 times/day showing who is currently not available for calls. To everyone working in claims in the entire country! It’s been a minute since I worked in claims. And never for this particular company. But is this shaming the new way to manage WFH.? I will be joining IBM next week in Bangalore ( physical onboarding ) and my hometown is in West bengal , My father is having health problems , mother won't be able to handle everything and no such person we can rely on . Also I am getting married in January . Hence If i stay in Bangalore there will be no one to take responsibility for my marriage prep also . If i convey to my ibm manager will they consider for 4months of WFH?Any documents may have to show?
