Update your resume and walk asap.
Time for a new job.
I'm petty so if I could afford it I'd quit on the spot. If not, polish your resume and start applying.
I don't see what pettiness has to do with it, but I second you 100 percent.
Demotion and pay cut (which in and of itself is bulls--t) sends a message - it wouldn't be surprising if you are ultimately terminated. You need to beat them to the punch by getting the hell out.
You have an advantage because you are currently employed. You have five years of experience. So start looking. Update your resume and professional portfolio. Start responding to employment announcements. Maintain contact with your references and network. Attend interviews. If a job offer appeals, consider accepting it.
I sense you have been putting up with plenty of nonsense in that firm for the past year. You deserve better. So leave, for something good, of course, ASAP. Best of luck with your job search.
Thank you so much for your advice. I truly appreciate it
Time to go!!!!
Absolutely leave NOW. NO notice either, just quit on the spot when u have a new job.

Leave and fast.
Did they share why you were demoted?
Coach
Nah, they gave you a reason. Either way, your only options are to accept it or quit.
Coach
What position did you get demoted to and what was the reasoning they gave you? Did others also get demoted? Wondering if it’s a reclassification based on years of experience or if it’s performance related.
Find a new job. It isn't worth your energy or time.
I would start looking for a new job.
They are quite likely moving you out of the firm - so do yourself a huge favor and apply for a different firm.
Thank you, thankfully I got hired at another firm. So I’m glad to be leaving.
