I really like public accounting as a profession but honestly don’t understand how people make it through the 5 years of absolutely mundane labor to make manager. Did you current managers, MDs, Partners, etc feel the same way early on?

I came up in a firm that was not big 4, but top 10, in a small office and was engaged really early on to take on progressive challenges. I also had managers/partners who really invested in me and provided different opportunities. Regional firms don’t have the prestige of big 4, but I appreciate the variety of experiences. Do you have an advocate in your firm? And more importantly, are you advocating for yourself to be more involved in areas that you are interested in?

Agree

Sounds like you are mindlessly performing tasks and not using those tasks as opportunities to learn about the businesses. I was never bored.

I need advice. I moved into product management under a year ago to an early stage startup. The first few months went well, but the last 5 have been chaotic. It feels like we’re becoming more sales led, there are too many pivots (I expected some) our roadmap is becoming influenced by sales/ceo. Essentially, we’re trying to do much. It’s happening so much I’m starting to lose confidence in the company/strategy. It’s also causing me anxiety…

Highly Technical Market Sell-Off - Though, it has picked up over lunch and I suspect that short term turn is in near. Old floortrader told me once, never trust a market that is making new session highs or lows during lunch. That's not normal. This might not be a normal day; but we do need to rebound to get another opportunity into the short trend. So, count on it. The last draw is more suspect as it hasn't been proven to exist yet. So, we will see how we look when we trade 9855.75 on NQ.
