I received an offer for a manager role at KPMG. Currently a manager and I’m hoping to negotiate my salary up. Any ideas on pay bands in the Washington DC area or any other tips?

Depends on your service line but my understanding is an internal promote to manager is generally around like the 130-150k range depending on how high performing and what service line they're in

Assuming you’re remaining in the public sector space, OP?

Much of our firm is commercial, EY1.

As an experienced hire, probably in the vicinity of 160k if you negotiate hard and you bring some really good skills to the table.

Exceptions here are Cyber and Lighthouse that pay more for technical managers.

Ok thanks. We typically get at least 10-15% as an M1.

Commercials should be 150k+ if you're a manager

Also posted over in tech bowl. Looking for advice on whether pursue a CS degree. I’m an older guy shifting to SWE. I finished bootcamp last May & about to start my first jr role at Oracle OCI. Late 30’s with a couple of kids. Is it worth it for me to seek a CS degree at this time/soonish? I’m not afraid of the extra work, and would go part time. Wondering if the eventual payoff would worth the effort. Will I level up quicker? Employer has partial tuition reimb.

I'm 4 years qaulfied & in an accounts based role with exposure to personal tax. Starting to feel my learning is slowing down. Due to acquisitions I feel like I'm falling down the pecking order and while I love it there concerned about my long term direction.

Ultimately I want to start up on my own and currently thinking if I use the next year to gain an tax based qailfication (ACA) looking at ATT?

Alot to unpack but welcome advice, would I benefit from ATT/advice on starting up?

Junior copywriter negotiating salary in NYC . I spent 8 months at my first gig. What kind of range should I expect? 60K?

Heard from recruiter that my onsite feedback was very strong and hiring manager thought I would be a great fit, but they went ahead with an internal candidate doing similar role with an adjacent team.

She mentioned that there is another very similar role open, and she will speak to the recruiter of that role about me. Has anyone seen that work or was she being nice? If not, I might as well apply to this new role online and give it a shot. TIA

Hi all - Soliciting feedback on comp for a new role.
Last role was an engineering manager at 185k, 10% bonus, RSUs, paid healthcare.
The first offer was a bit underwhelming. I'm trying to think of creative ways to respond with a counter offer. Offer is 150k base with 10k bonus, no equity or stock, and insurance premiums are a bit expensive. Base and bonus are what I have to work with. Initial thoughts were to give a hard "no" and continue interviewing.
