I spend the whole zoom meeting looking at how cute I am in my little video square

Our district voted on returning back to school with students in the classroom and some staying at home. We now have to teach students in the room and on Zoom at the same time. I’m not complaining but does anyone have any tips on the best and most effective way to get this done?

As things start to open up fully, some of my institutional clients are sending notices that we are expected to do X activity over zoom from here on out (things we used to do in person). Clearly it’s a cost cutting measure. Anyone else feel like filing for telephonic appearance so the insurance company can save a buck isn’t going to sit well with judges who prefer in person attendance? IEP, 504, and those without internet will return in-person next week while rest of students remain remote. Regular Ed teachers may have students (mild Learning Disabled kiddos) in their room while teaching. Came back to school in August with a cruise ship still sitting on my stage. We walked away from Anything Goes the day after the sitzprobe because of the quarantine. Still taking the wind out of my sails.

We are here now, but not able to stage shows. Logic says, "Do a radio show!" Just not sure I want to subject the kids to the emptiness of that performance style given the Zoom life they've been living. The production of it could be fun though.

I need advice about Zoom. Is it easier to have a zoom link with your personal Id or a simple generated one? I want to connect my Zoom link in my clever portal, but for some reason the generated one doesn’t work, but I’m afraid if I switch anything it will mess up the flow. Any experts do we have advice?

Today shit blew up so much on my two gigs all I could hear for hours was the constant barrage of pinging noises from outlook, gmail, slack and teams. Like some kind of hellish tech sounding symphony. I will probably go to sleep tonight with pings, clicks, chimes and whooshes echoing in my head into the void. Seriously y’all how do we not lose our fucking minds?

Switching from commission to salary!

I’m considering a less sales-oriented role that doesn’t pay commission. The new role will have a higher base but lower overall earning potential.

What % haircut should be expected? As an example, if I make 100k (base + commission) today, would it be realistic to ask for 90k (10% cut) + equity to make up the difference?

How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.

Going through a lot of mixed emotions. Almost feels like my anxiety levels are on the rise. I used to think I can manage stress very well, but that belief seems to be fading away.
