Hi fishes Will work from home in FIS continue atleast upto Dec 2022? Any idea? FIS Global
I got offer in Bangalore FIS and my husband got an offer with one big company in Hyderabad. Both companies are currently WFH only but in future, I might have to consider moving to Hyderabad. Fis doesn't have office in Hyderabad so I was wondering if I can ask permanent WFH later. I guess I will be put in fis payment solution.
Thanks in advance. Kindly let me know. FIS Global

Designate an office space and hold yourself accountable to “office hours”. I’ve been wfh for years (even pre COVID) and the separate space is what helps.
Honestly, if I lived in a studio, I would be more willing to go back to the office. I’m lucky to have a dedicated home office. So I don’t get distracted by normal household stuff.
I have days like this and it drives me insane. I’m finding my project so boring right now plus the Ukraine news cycle is so distracting it’s difficult to maintain focus
Yep.
Something that actually helped me a ton was finally taking the Myers-Briggs test, and then looking up how to stay productive based on my MB personality type. I'm an ISFP-T, and the tip that was recommended was to dedicate 30 minutes to 1 hour where I turn *all* notifications off. It was tough at first, but it's only getting easier, and has made a huge difference.
Check out 16personalities.com, I think all you have to do is put in your email and the test is free. They also give an in-depth description of what each type means. I used this site >1 year ago so it may have changed though
I used to work from the kitchen table in my last (smaller) apartment and got very distracted by everything. I found that using a visual / physical cue to indicate “working time” vs non-working time helped create a similar separation to the “dedicated office space” tips. Example: I got a desk lamp and would turn it on when my workday started, and turn it off and turn the floor lamp off when I was done working for the day. That allowed me to use the same space for multiple things without feeling like I’m always in the kitchen (w distractions like snacks, dishes, etc) or always in the “office”.
MB type idea above is interesting - I’m INFJ-A fwiw.
Great idea!
Really? For me, I feel more productive when WFH. In the office, people keep reaching out for coffee catching up & other nonsense socialise stuffs
I’ve full time remote, and it definitely has its challenges! I wear noise cancelling headphones when working from home, keep a completely clean desk (except for my laptop, monitor and my current cup of coffee ;)), and will set pomodoro timers (25 minutes working, 5 minutes break) if I’m on a particularly tight deadline. I’ve found that all these things help me to stay focused. I also track my hours, despite being salaried, because it helps me set clear boundaries about work time vs home time, and ensures that my work hours aren’t slowly increasing. I also try to implement a post-work habit - for me, a neighborhood walk as soon as I close my computer - to remind my brain that the work day is officially over.
If I can feel myself becoming unfocused, I’ll try to reorient via my daily and weekly to-do list. If I really can’t refocus, I’ll go head and get up from my desk for 5-10 minutes and do a small household task, so that I feel productive and ready to get back to work immediately after.
These tricks work most days for me, but it’s up and down for sure! :)
You work from home 1 day a week. You’re probably inefficient cuz it’s Sunday
Set timers to get the project done. Work at a coffee shop or library for a more “productive” environment.
I do coffee shops for focusing on single-screen stuff like slide deck updates or snapshots or brainstorming (I even use pen & paper sometimes). Very dependent on the nature of your work though! Some weeks it’s reasonable and some it’s not.
For me I save 30 mins during lunch for boom
Boom to focus back
Could you just work from the office every day if that works better for you?
Ugh, yeah, I entirely understand that. Commuting is the reason I never want to work in an office again, but luckily I have a dedicated home office space.
Rising Star
I feel you. I go into the office every day I can, the challenge is when my meetings start at 7am, I can’t be there that early.
When WFH I will leave my phone in another room while I work. That helps a lot. Fishbowl, Instagram, news, leave that shit in the other room and “reward” yourself with phone dopamine hits when you accomplish something. This is a big one. I think we are all phone addicts.
