As an ex EY, partners will NEVER say that you will make x amount when you get promoted. They gave you a range, that’s how it works. You *could* make that as a manager.
In what universe you think you were going to get a raise of 60%. Think about it. Rest of it is legit and I hope you find a better job.
Completely agree, but I’m not making this up! I even brought it up to my husband recently and he remembered the exact details of that conversation as well
Join a better firm. When i made manager at OW, my total comp went up almost 50%
You must be counting bonus here, too
From SA to M level at T2s the base goes up by 10-15%
Well you should be realistic with your self. You really thought you’d get a 100k raise. That’s SM band
Or under M1 at EYP….
Depends on where OP works and what his role is.
lol my boutique offered me this comp as an SC five years ago. Damn EY is cheap.
No disrespect OP, but expecting a 60% raise is insane, borderline delusional, even with the fact that it came from a partner who realistically can’t sanction that type of raise?
Being completely honest with you, what incentive would they have to give you a 60% raise (or any company for that matter).
99% of us (me included, shoot 😂) are replaceable
Wasn’t expecting that to be the case. I was shocked when he gave me that info. But i don’t think it’s delusional to have expected more than 7.5% after working myself into the ground.
He probably meant total comp
That base is what you can expect as a new M at T2s
Partner didn’t even show up to my year-end call that he set up lol smh
How many years of experience do you have?
Ex EY here. When you agile promo EY doesn’t give you your full raise. Just the promo portion. The rest will come in the late summer/ fall 2025. But it won’t be 60%. You’ll get there but prob late SM years.
Damn that is like the minimum salary for a consulting manager at big 4
Managers with mbas probably make that much.
If you didn't have the critical thinking skills to be skeptical of the figure and confirm it (ideally in writing), you might not merit that comp level.
7.5% is just promo raise for agile promo, you will get 2 more adjustments - performance + market raise in Aug along with regular cycle. My gut says you will get closer to $170-180k base and a bonus of 10% or so
Agile promo is a mid year promo so not the full amount. Expect another 7 at end of year. Also he’s not lying. You can make 210 as manager. At year 4 or 5. Wouldn’t be wishing for that because SM promo is only 3 years old
