No don't worry about it. Unless it's written in your relieving letter that you were in PIP or something then other org won't know
They will, your profile is central across all organisations.
If you have a pip that started means you went through focus/pivot and then pip, which means you are tagged as URA. Minimum no hire time is 5 years.
Why do you want to go back there?
That's some BS politics there. You can also try another Big tech firm.
You smart to get out
Have to wait 5 years in order to be considered again.
Your situation is very close to one I experienced with another large company. Though I ended up just having some modestly concerning comments made on my review and getting a mid range evaluation. I moved to another division. I was surprised and pleased that the details of the review were removed from Workday so that my new management doesn't see the comments.
I also enjoyed what I did and the people I worked with. Except for 1 or 2 people from management that made my life hell. I even was setup in conflict against the management of another division who's project I was asked to review for use in my own division at the time. I also had another manager trying to create a lead position for me. It was a love and hate situation. Now, a few years later. Those managers have moved to a different division and one of the remaining managers has asked to catch up sometime.
Hopefully hearing a similar story is helpful
I worked at Amazon fulfillment center and I was placed on a PIP when I asked they said it wasn’t performance it was for behavior……..lol I had the number team in the whole building with high management scores. The sr leadership didn’t like me because I made my own decisions and I treated everyone with respect I don’t understand why that’s such a bad thing lol
Mastercard?
It’s gaslighting,. Forget about them and move on.
I also worked at AWS
In my experience having gone through some extreme pressure, toxic environment that started causing mental health issues was a lesson learned the hard way that you and your loved ones well being is what matters. I would any day chose to earn less but be happy instead of sticking around toxic behavior that constantly is impacting your health, your productivity and your personality.
Some people are masochist
Curious to understand who you are referring to with a statement like that- the PIP’d or the PIPPER?

I too was placed in Focus due to one leaders doing. Was one of, if not the top performer on the team. When I asked, I was told by my manager that this had nothing to do with performance but was about behavior. I stood up for myself to the wrong person and ended up leaving (voluntarily) a job I once loved because of it. Curious to know, if you leave while in Focus, are you also ineligible for rehire?
Rising Star
Go to Microsoft, OpenAI or Meta. You landed in an unfortunate spot with that bad dotted line interaction. Give it some time and the Amazon recruiters will be calling again. Wait for them to call you and experience other companies in the mean time.
So is that pretty regular to be put on pip and then take FMLA for stress? I hear about this happening often, and had one co-worker do it too.
I took a leave of absence due to stress. Leave was approved without question, as my leaders knew I finished out an incredibly challenging project… was put on a Focus plan two days after returning.
Hey! I quit Amazon after using my FMLA as well. I actually spoke with Amazon ERC yesterday to talk about getting my W-2’s from last year and just out of the blue I told the lady that I quit using FMLA (I was never pipped) and and if that affected my rehire eligibility and she was like “yup your good for rehire!” So apparently they can see it in their system.
Try giving them a call and ask about your rehire eligibility, they should be able to tell you on the spot! Good luck !
Nowadays it's a new trend, many companies use the PIP, and also I heard bathroom clock out to improve efficiency.
With one of my close buddies being alienated by their own manager, I advise to take the PIP, go on FMLA, and look for other roles outside the company. It’s been a brutal market, and it’s taking close to 3-4 months to land a job. May as well get paid from AWS and if you do get fired, least you can apply for unemployment. There’s no loyalty in corporate, Ohana means nothing to me at Salesforce. I love my manager and got lucked out but if stuff hits the fan, ppl are worrying about oneself.
