Weird American thing. Friends usually love to have us over but not over Thanksgiving b/c they are nervous around their family. So weird.

I grew up in a nuclear family away from extended relatives who were never really close. Parents were either emotionally unavailable or distant. All I've wanted for myself was a big loving family to call my own.. my parents are unaccepting of my sexuality & my partners family is also quite fucked up so she's isn't super close to them either. Honestly this sucks & it feels like I'll never have a huge supportive family I've wanted & craved for.

Anyone else have family know you are struggling to conceive and then when their kids act out they turn to you and say, “you sure you want kids?” I guess they are trying to lighten things but I find it really hurtful.

The biggest thing I keep running and running around my head- after 8 months, why did he drop me? When he texted ending it l….it wasn’t me, like we weren’t us, his words were from someone else, like I didn’t matter. My family mistreated me when I was younger, and now that I don’t live at home, they don’t call or bother to look for me, because frankly, I think they have a hard time admitting what happened - and will never apologize to me either.
