I was Interviewing with McKinsey (BA) and didn’t make it past the Case Interview. I’m a little disappointed, but not necessarily shocked. I did make 2 mistakes during the Case Interview - giving revenue instead of net income (was quickly corrected) and not initially saying incentivize workers to increase sales of items (did have other reasons). My question is, how are mistakes judged during a case interview? Are these mistakes usually detrimental? Could I have walked through my process more?

How do referrals work?
If I get a referral from someone and I apply, then can I still reach out to a recruiter on LinkedIn expressing interest in the role? And do I let them know that I already applied? I wanted to get people's opinions on leetcode, codewars etc when prepping for interviews. I am a junior full stack dev looking to move to a better paying junior role or a mid role and honestly these style of questions have always stumped me. I have found that in a year of work to have never found them useful in tackling real world issues. Now I'm moving from a junior to a mid can I still expect leetcode style questions?
