36/hr is $72k a year (so you likely wouldn’t make overtime)
Why is it an hourly pay based role? That’s a red flag
I would ask for higher than that. They always have room for negotiations. I would ask for a higher amount than where you actually hope to end up.
Ask for what you actually want, and if you have to, negotiate down from there. I would try for the higher range of whatever they offer and don't be afraid to push back since the average is (potentially) higher than what they're offering.
Most recruiters expect a counter-offer, so I'd always ask for more. You can always negotiate down a bit, but it's better than accepting their lowest offer (which is likely what they'll make you to start).
