Many IBM interviews start with a cognitive assessment but it’s quite easy - it’s a contest of you vs Watson so quite easy if you simply google the answers
Kidding. I have received offers from IBM for 3 levels - one as recently as Dec 20 and never had to take a fake cognitive test but things may have changed as the Heidrick and their peers are desperately pushing worthless BS tests. NPR even has a podcasts on the worthlessness of these tests.

It could adversely impact the process If it’s not what they expect. The process is often to increase “culture fit” or decrease cultural diversity as lot of the questions assume one grew up a certain way. Either way most people don’t know how they did as the test is designed to drive one to failure anyway.
The IBM cognitive assessment I took recently was game-based, like finding the most efficient route from point A to B and adding as many progressively larger numbers together until your time runs out. It wasn’t hard at all. In fact it was so weird I don’t even know how I did. But I got an offer, so I guess I played the games well enough!
