Hookers who take cards
Maybe my fixed expenses are high but I spend 3k per month easy....???
OP - here's what you do. Get the card, use it on absolutely everything you can, keep track of how much you've spent and how much longer you have to meet your goal. When your time period is almost up, check how much more you need to spend and then simply link your credit card to your Venmo or squarecash account. Find a friend that you trust or open another account. Transfer the remaining spend that you need to that respective account at a 3% cost since it's a credit card. Then make sure you adjust your receiving account to be set to your debit card or checking account and then send the money back to yourself. The only cost you'll incur is the 3% of whatever amount you transferred, but assuming you're going to at least get close to the 4K that shouldn't be an issue and you're getting your signup bonus as well. Hope the card you got is the chase sapphire preferred because it's awesome! Happy spending!
Look up manufactured spending. /r/churning is your best friend.
Amazon Gift cards
Pay rent with your card, if your building allows it
Black jack and hookers
I had a friend who bought an engagement ring at Costco and then returned it (after he got the credit card points).
Thank you all, especially the suggestion on manufactured spending - was an interesting read. I used the card to pay off a part of my student loan. There was only a $5 fees to use a credit card to do so. I am now considering making the loan payments using the card only to get add'l reward points.
As a last resort gift cards. I'm doing that myself right now. Book future travel.
Ask friend/parent/sibling/etc. who isn't as obsessed with points as the average consultant and ask if you could pay for a large purchase of theirs and throw them $20 or something.
Pay your friend's rent and they pay you back
