Idk why but any time I run into an ex patent examiner and they start bragging about how they never allowed any patents I have to resist the urge not to roll my eyes. What I imagine is not someone who wrote good rejections but rather someone who was an AH about 112 or something stupid

My boss won’t stop sexually harassing me. Verbally, email, texts - 400+. He even set up his office with a display of sex toys and edibles condiments to show me that he planned to give me oral sex. All started 3 weeks into the job. I moved my family cross country for this job and just bought a house. He promises me none of his requests or my responses will affect my job and is just begging now to be friends with me. Tell me what would you do if you were me.

How often do you respond to emails from law students who want to learn about your firm/practice area? I get like a dozen requests right around OCI every year. I just finished a big jury trial with a senior partner (SP). There were co-parties w/separate counsel. SP mentally checked out, to the point that co-counsel was asking what SP was doing/if SP was okay. I ended up handling most everything. SP did a few parts but went rogue and did things that were offensive/risky/bad for client. It became clear that SP is not performing like SP used to and may be a liability. Do I tell someone at my firm? Don’t want to offend SP or cause drama, but I’m concerned.

What’s the worst mistake you’ve made at work? Sent something with a boneheaded mislinking error to a client today and feel less than great.

My hands are shaking!! I just got off a call with my toxic manager who is clearly not happy I am being poached for another division. I tried to hold firm as he attempted to 20 question me, who was it, who wants me, what division, how did they find out about me? And of course the gaslighting of “why didn’t you come to me I could have helped or made introductions”. Clearly everything is about him. How have you handled such situations? What could I have done better with my abusive manager?

Is negotiating offers the norm now? I’ve been at my company awhile and at the time I was hired they said they don’t do negotiations, take it or leave it and they’d offer the next person. I was thinking conditional format, but it’s identifying duplicate labels. I have over 80,000 cells, so extracting URLs manually isn’t going to work for me.

I've always had an interest in litigation but never seem to have opportunities at the firms I've been at to gain experience. Has anyone successfully taken a job as a patent litigator without prior experience?

Billables as a mid-level IP litigation associate at Big Law, AM100, and AM200 firms? I’m currently doing 60% patent prosecution, 40% litigation at a mid-sized IP boutique and am considering lateraling for a patent litigation position, but I’m concerned about work life balance, especially since my SO and I are expecting. I currently have a 1900 target, and I routinely bill about 2000. I’m interviewing at DLA, Saul Ewing, Honigman, and Fox Rothschild (all DC offices).
