If an agency is looking for a full-time creative, has anyone had any luck convincing the agency to hire you as a freelancer to fill the role?

I only ask because the agency isn’t particularly desirable and i’d only want to be there short term, and i’d like to get as much money out of them as possible.

It’s definitely possible. As a freelancer I get gigs all the time that start with agencies trying to fill a full-time role.

You can say that you’re interested in freelancing as a junior if they’re open to it. They might try to convince you to do a “freelance-to-perm” thing so be ready for a response to that.

Just be upfront with your intentions. If you have no intention of ever going full-time don’t lie. String them along if you must (ask for a “trial period,” etc.) but don’t flat out lie and tell them you want to go full time if you don’t.

How do you go about asking them? Do you just say you’re looking to freelance at this point in your career?

I turned down a ft offer and offered freelance instead. Going on month 2 permalance.

Looking to get into SaaS sales but my experience is in construction and fine furniture (I was a sales manager and was able to lead my team of 4 people to consistently hit 450k monthly targets). I did that for almost 2 years before making the switch. I miss sales, though. Does anyone have any connections to companies looking? I have also considered a sales analyst role considering that I am moderately versed in Salesforce and have worked both the customer facing and sales generating side. TIA!

Hi, new to this bowl.

Looking for a new role leading a PM and/or ops team. I'm an agency (media & creative) vet - depth in digital, crm, creative, tech, data, & process dev/deploy.

Have also worked ~4 years transforming / running ops at Kimbery-Clark's Digital COE and ~a year on web & digital projects at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Do IH agencies have substantial PM teams / need for leadsrship? I know many need operations & process enhancement.

Any specific roles on anyone's radar?

Thx!

Is there an easy/efficient way to figure out how much you've contributed to vs earned in your Roth accounts? I started contributing >20 years ago to my employer's Roth 401k and have rolled it over to a Roth IRA and moved it between multiple custodians, e.g. Fidelity, Vanguard, UBS, Personal Capital, etc. It is unclear to me how much I contributed vs how much I earned by investing it.

The purpose of doing this is I want to use $10K of it, but want to prove that the $10K is from my contribution.

Car was $35k, $7k down, finance $28k. Gap insurance is through lender, not auto insurer.

I’ve been a freelance print production designer for many years, and usually on-site in the before times. Now I work remote, and am finding it uneasy dealing with billing. Before I always billed hourly, which made sense, but it’s becoming an issue now. Some companies don’t have a full days’ work, so it seems wrong to bill full days, and it allows me to juggle projects for different companies, but my billable hours are down. I know I should bill a daily rate, but not sure that will fly. Thoughts?

Farewell freelance life. It was good (money) while it lasted. Unfortunately, the stress of looking for my next gig and never saying “no” to any gigs wore me out. Huzzah for health insurance and 401k!
