Is it normal to not do QoE/NWC adjs at the analyst level? The directors/managers usually jump in and handle them. I know it’s faster for them to do it but I feel like I’m not learning anything except how to set up a data book. Only been in deals for about 3 months.

You’re only 3 months in. This is normal

like

Yeah like @AA1 said, 3 months is pretty early in your learning process. I’d reassess once you hit the 6+ month mark. I probably started getting good full databook reps (from data cutting to running QE adjustments) at maybe around the 7-8month mark.

like

Ditto

3 months in, normal. But you should absolutely be spending the time on your deals to understand how and why they built what they did, and talking through with them anything that’s doesn’t make 100 sense to you

like

Seriously ask now because when you are a year in you are expected to know. As an analyst it is key you build databooks well. Gradually you will be phased into writing and eventually expected to run meetings.

like

It’s normal to be pushed to the next level but hopefully they’re not stressing you out. Gives you more credibility when you are up for promotion.

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time
