If I move from Senior Manager position in PA in NYC to a manager position in industry in a very small town, will I ever be able to go up again? Or is that the end of my career?

I’d ignore titles and focus on comp and responsibilities. You can always move around and the Senior Manager title from PA carries weight. It’s all about how you spin the story for your next role.

like

Don’t believe the hype. Title is secondary to compensation. These are all just internal rumors spread to make people second guess leaving. Believe it or not people get promoted outside of the B4 too

like

That's not unusual as I have take step back and didn't have an issue moving to A. Director with a fair compensation. Believe in your abilities and how competent you are. Just don't overestimate what you can achieve in short term. Good Luck.

Hello Fishes,

I need some advice regarding this situation and what to do. So I work for a company that offers outsourcing services to major investment banks around the world. I have been working for a new client for about six months now and they seem to like my work so far. Recently I saw that they're hiring to get people on their team at my level. My question is, should I talk to my client and try to pursue them to consider me for the role they're hiring for?

Hello, in my previous organisation I worked in development domain (Oracle IAM Tool and Java)and my post was software Engineer, i joined Wipro as project Engineer in April 2022 and was assigned non technical project as an analyst.

I fought my way hard to get released from the project. However my designation is changed as Analyst. Should I ask for change in designation as I know that analyst is non-technical profile? Would my designation impact my future role as well?

I have been in management for the past 8 years and part of large corporations. I just recently joined a small organization that I have wanted to be a part of for the past 2 years, accepted the role of general manager. How long did it take you to receive your first promotion? I have 3 years of work experience, currently at my 3rd agency, and third associate position. Hi, Can someone please connect me to the recruiter/HR?
There is a Test Engineer (Automation) opening in Google which I see on LinkedIn. It seems relevant. Applied a few times already but I don't think submitting resume is helping here.
Also, I hear HR at Google helps candidate prepare for the interview as well.
Any help would be appreciated. TIA 😊

I'm in a litigation, about 9 months in. Is it normal that I spend majority of my time making bundles for my partners (printing, binding, moving docs in a different order whenever there are new documents or he wants to add stuff) reviewing documents and making tables (e.g. dates, which documents are from where), and the only legal work is like notices of admission, list of documents, the occasional research? By any chance, does anyone have references in Singapore? I would be available immediately to join the organisation.
