Anyone want to grab a drink tn?
I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Should I join @SAP considering its a Product based and good WLB and learning? Teck Stack - Java/Micro-services/cloud YOE - 11yrs

I love my job. But I would never went to healthcare if I knew what I know about it now..
No. I would enter a tech career where I make a better salary, have more flexibility, have the holidays off and can work from home once in a while. My age is keeping me from leaving. That being said, if you don't need the money and you want a part-time job, health care is a good option.
Yes I would in a heart beat!
Chief
I would work in pharmaceuticals instead of nursing
Drug dealers/distributors definitely get more bucks..
If I could go back in time, I would conduct better research and notice the red flags mentioned during the interview process 😔. Don't let the higher pay rate fool you because the benefits 👎🏾
I was working as a fast food manager while in nursing school and if I had to do it all over again, I would’ve continued to climb the ladder and would probably have my own franchise by now.
Maybe...easy to get pigeon-holed into one "profession" and not able to branch out since so much work experience is in one field, or one branch.
I have gotten a BS in Human Services, taken multiple trainings all over the map, worked 2-3 jobs simultaneously for different kinds of experience, and taken a certificate training in MS Office, but I still am only looked at as a "home health aide."
No shame in that, but my current job offers no advancement, and folks who have been there 20 years make the same pay as those who have been here for 3.
Discouraging that so much time and energy is not rewarded with a change...some workers LIKE change, its good for our minds and souls.
Had I known 15 years ago "this was all there is", I might have chosen differently.
If I could go back in time I would definitely still want to work in the healthcare industry. I really love getting to help people and I also like the fast paced environment I work in. It's also so easy to schedule a group of shifts together to give me some extra time off and go on vacations without having to use any vacation days which is a huge bonus.
Not the way things are now. But that’s the ticket right? If only we could see into the future!
I felt healthcare is rewarding only during the first decade of work. It feels fulfilling and rewarding. Pay feels better, but once you have that, you feel stuck. Work life balance is not satisfactory. As you research, pay is way better in other field with others perks. If you are not doctor, you will always have to think of extra source of income. Once you invested your life in the field, you may want to be in the field. If I would have gone back in time, I would have changed into medical school immediately once I would qualify. I respect each health profession, but I don’t we are respected as much as I should. Pay is not well compensated at all.
Yes. I love the job, even with all of its stress. At this point in my life, I would find it very difficult to change careers. I don't even want to think about changing employers.
No.
Maybe I'd go into business.... I haven't left because of the amount of effort it would take to find a new job and get familiar with it, etc.
I definitely would, but I think if I would change anything it would be to get in to advanced practice sooner!
No. Absolutely not.
I would be more specialized
That's something I think about now and then and I don't really have a definite answer. There are other things I sometimes wish I had tried. But I can't complain about having had a steady job when friends in other fields have had real problems with job security over the years. So I haven't got strong feelings about leaving at this point and pursuing something else.
No. I think not.
I think so. Even though healthcare is broken, I feel fulfilled making an impact on each patient I care for.
No way, I would have added a nursing or PA degree. It is very difficult to make a living as a Registered Dietitian.
