Amex people thoughts on this offer, as I have recently(4 months back) joined a startup with Base(33) and CTC(35.5) but not enjoying the work here. Amex brand tag and culture is good.
Hence, considering the offer, does this offer look good or is there any scope of improvement? Amex American Express

Dallas - no state income tax, more affordable rent than the other cities, great night life, good weather 9 months out of the year (July-Sept is miserably hot... but then again pools and lakes are abundant). Also, if Austin is a choice, it’s a fantastic city (music, food, outdoorsy activities).
“Smoke shows, land whales and female talent” men are disgusting !
EY1 - $1200 rent in SF? Are you paying the homeless to sublet their box?
NYC if your willing to deal with the cold, SF if not, anywhere else if you want to be able to afford life
I’m a single male. Not sure how to take that reply EY1
DENVER
Can we get a City by city review of “land whales” proportionate to the population? I believe that’s a census term...
PWC1. I personally love philly but I but practice is not there. PS philly might burn down tomorrow night.
Dallas forever.
Dallas for sure- NYC is garbage. Girls are much better looking in Texas.
See “quality of life” is relative. Square footage is just a number to me- I don’t want pets and I have a very comfortable apartment 20 min walk from the office. I don’t need a huge house because I’m out of the house 99% of the time seeing friends, shows, concerts, parks, hiking, skiing, whatever. I’ve bought real estate in other lower COL cities (4 units now) because I can afford it much easier, and overall work life balance is fantastic in the city because of the “tech” mindset (for example tons of workplace flexibility and rolling in at 10:30 if you want to).
You really wanna compare $107k to $75k? I think it more than makes up for itself. ...
Chicago!
I would do Denver, Dallas or Chicago. All great city’s and you won’t have to live in a closet with two roommates to survive. What city are you in now?
Anywhere but NYC or SF, cost-of-living makes life horrible
I've lived in both NYC and Dallas. Both have their pros and cons. For me, on balance, I would say Dallas. Live in the uptown area, which might cost a little more but will put you in walking distance to great night life and probably even the KPMG office. The COL will be very manageable.
NY is great and the public transit, like the subway is fantastic. The night life is second to none and our firm has a huge office there, where you'll meet a lot of great people. While I enjoyed my time in NY, and I think you would too, the cost of living is outrageous. Absolutely incomprehensible if you haven't lived it. Between that and the cold is what finally made me move on.
EY1, trust me, your counterparts in the Midwest making 75K have a much much better quality of life than you do. On 75K in the Midwest you can afford a 2500 square-foot house, a new car and still have money for vacations and savings.
Hey guys can we all agree girls around the country are attractive in their own ways. The only thing I will concede (coming from an SF girl) is Bay Area girls are not the best at style/clothing/makeup, but even then I think you’ll find a lot of really motivated and ambitious girls, who on average pay for their dates and are mostly quite fit. So that’s a different kind of attractive as well 😁
Where is Philadelphia on this options list?
Extremely different cultures at each of those locations. Pick one you haven't experienced yet or intrigues you the most. I moved to NYC from the Midwest, and I have absolutely loved it here so far (3 years). It's tough, and I don't plan on staying in NYC for more than another 3 or 4 years, but the experience out here is second to none. The cliche/song is true, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere
I’m currently in NYC area. My only hesitation are these. I’m a car guy so I’d love be able to own a car. The cold in here is seriously depressing from December to March.
