Just keep in mind they 100% can let you walk.
Only tell them if it’s a place you wouldn’t hate working at.
Don’t reveal agency/company. Talk to your manager you received an offer, and if they like you, they’ll ask is there anything they can do to keep you. That’s when you go into salary details AND benefits.
They’ll definitely need to know the salary details, otherwise how could they counter (if they want to). I wouldn’t necessarily offer the salary up front, see if they ask, but always be ready to walk in case they don’t counter.
You could say you’re leaving for a bigger increase in pay and not be specific unless they ask, if that is more comfortable to you, but if they want to counter they’ll have to know what the amount is. Or tell them up front, I’m getting a 30k bump in pay and can’t turn it down or whatever.
Yeah, playing this game certainly isn’t without risks.
