Would anyone be willing to chat who made the jump from big 4 —> tech —> MBB? I did not have a great experience in tech and looking to pivot back into consulting. Went to a non-target undergrad but 10 YOE at good firms.
Someone is conducting a job interview during breakfast in the Marriott lounge. Everyone can hear the questions/answers. It's for a sales job. This is weird.
Perks of GT over a big 4?
Any one from Big 4 working in supply chain practice? Need some inputs on the career path
Currently an A3 in audit. My team communicated to me that they’re pushing for me to get mid-year promo (Jan 2022) but I’m also interested in leaving to another Big 4 for AAS as an S1. Current salary is $73.6k and am unsure of how much I should be going for to make the jump worth it. I know EY FAAS offered a friend $85k in my market but assuming I get mid year promo I’m not so sure the salary bump would be significant enough. How much room for negotiation is there with Big 4 experienced hires?
Thoughts on Zoom job interview dress code? My instinct is a tailored dress or nice blouse. I feel like a blazer could come off as too formal but curious to know your thoughts/if anyone here has experience. Thanks in advance!
Stupid question, want to get into political risk consultant, is that a thing outside of PwC in the big 4? If so what qualifications do you need and what's more utilized, risk analysis or poli sci?
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
What is the going rate for a recently promoted tax S1 non specialty practice, looking to jump ship at big 4? HCOL Northeast.
Just decided to go independent. Having trouble finding work as a contractor with other consulting firms. How do you get projects with the MBBs, Big 4, etc? I only know about pwc talent exchange...
Mini poll - Best firm among Tier 2: (also would be lovely to know why) 💜 - GT ❤️ - BDO 💚 - RSM
Any McKinsey fishes had a subpar case interview in round 1 and still progress in the recruiting progress?(assuming other interviews were good)
I’m interviewing on Monday and the HR rep said the office is “casual so to wear whatever I feel comfortable in” ...how would you interpret that? Obv. don’t look sloppy but also an open range here...
What do y'all think the chances of getting hired by a European office of a Big 4 (not one from my current employer) as an American citizen are? I'm guessing slim...
When would be the best time to jump from a firm that's ranked around 16th in the nation up to a B4 firm?
Any insights into senior/ principal engagement manager roles at AWS? What’s the work like/ exit opportunities/ comp/ pre-COVID travel?
We are currently building the plan for the hybrid model we will follow mid October. (No specific date yet.) We have committed to an A/B model with groups attending MT and Th/F in person, working remotely the other three days. If you have an AB model do you deliver the same content to your students each day, regardless of them being remote or in person? Or is the lesson cycle one that begins on the first day you teach in person for each group? This second model seems complicated.
I had an interview with the hiring manager (MD to whom I will be reporting, if hired) It's been 2 weeks since then, I have not heard back from the HR or hiring manager, should I be worried and who should I send a follow-up to, HR or the Hiring Manager?
Is there anybody here that has started back to work with students in the classroom? If so how many days and what state? Thank you.
I've gotten to a point with my client where they are super comfortable with me. We don't shake hands anymore, but dap each other up. Same with my senior client account lead. Guess this is a good thing
I was recently reached out to for a product development role. Despite searching quite a bit online, reading several LinkedIn profiles of others with the same title, etc. I’m still unclear about the nature and expectations of the role. Does anyone know what a product development lead does and how it differs from a product development manager (if at all)? I’m also struggling to understand how technical it is & exit opps. Any insight or even links to helpful articles would be greatly appreciated!
DOJ will reissue a sentencing proposal for Stone after Trump complained about it being “unfair” on Twitter. Raise your hand if you think he will issue a pardon for Stone eventually.
How do you guys make new friends in LA for an over 40 gay CPA? Corp culture, gay or straight, in LA is like that in Japan...either drink or become isolated in both your personal and professional life.
Which other schools have delayed opening F2F until September? Do you think a lot will change in that time?

What is net pay for teachers who make 50k? What is your monthly take home pay after Insurance, dues, etc? Repost, I wasn’t clear in my last post. Just curious what I can expect monthly.

What’s everyone’s thoughts, opinions on a future housing crash? San Diego gone prices are crazy
PwC Director Sabbatical is a joke. They tell you it is 4 weeks, it is actually 3 weeks plus one week of your vacation, and good luck trying to take it.
I’m all about that work from home life. However it is insulting and unprofessional when a colleague who is in the office blows off a scheduled meeting with you when you are virtual as they bumped into another colleague in the office. Anyone else noticing issues like this now that we are in this hybrid mode. How do you address it?
