McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Probably true. I worked for a smaller company before KPMG and big 4 is a whole other animal. At least you should be promoted within one year if you’re good at your job
Exits ops are 100% better and more abundant coming from B4. That said, I snagged a fantastic opportunity from mid-tier, and I didn’t think for a second that my options were limited in any way while I was interviewing.
(Continued) don’t give you enough managing experience required for big4 clients. Any thoughts?

Yes absolutely, I think it’s worth it to get the name on your resume. I came to Deloitte from a mid sized and like it so far, exit opps will be nicer down the road so you can’t go wrong
DM me for a referral to Deloitte, in this market you can definitely keep your manager title. Someone from a regional firm just joined us as a audit manager 1 (just promoted at their last firm)
Definitely try for the big 4, even 6 months stay will open doors for you. But no way should you take on a lower role. I’ve had managers who come in from mid tiers.
The way I look at this is if they pay you more then who cares if you are dropping a title. If you do decide to join big4, as to get in writing that they will promote you to manager next year or after year. I have seen this happening and once you have a year of experience you can always leave for another big 4 for a manager position. I use to be petty and think titles were so important but they are not that important if you take a dip for few years, your career is a marathon and not a sprint.
I am in industry. All recent new hires including me are from big4. You can't disregard the name value of big4.

Interview now for all of the big 4. They are desperate and may give you. A manager title.
If anything, come in as a senior, do 6 months and prove you can do the manager role. Take the manager bonus or other perks and roll with it.
