I'm a risk manager with 8 years of experience in banking. If I wanted to jump into the consulting world for new experiences, are there opportunities in the Big 4 that have partial work life balance, or would I be better off in a smaller global consulting firm (ie. Accenture)?

I just got into reading books, any suggestions to start with? Which could help to increase media/marketing knowledge.

I am currently looking at a position for advisory usdc commercial anti-money laundering at Deliotte. Does anyone know how work life balance is for this type of a position?

Made the pivot from Big 4 to Bain and frankly underwhelmed. Seems like Bains Ops capabilities / general knowledge resources / white papers are lagging the industry quite a bit. Miles behind BCG / McKinsey as well. Literally only good for PE and nothing else.

I am interested in Estate Planning but have no experience. How do I break into this practice?

I was at Big 4 consulting for a year before lateraling to ACN recently. It’s been about 6 months at ACN. Now I have an industry offer for Product Manager, which has been my eventual goal. Would it be too soon to jump? Or should I stick around for better exits in a couple of years may be? I’m worried the frequent changes won’t look good on my resume
4 YOE overall, TC at Product Manager is about 20-25k > ACN.

About to begin the recruitment process for BCG and am coming in from EY where I’m currently a manager. I have pretty good work life balance: 8 am to 7 pm and on fridays, I can sign off at 3 pm. People are great at EY but I know the work could be more interesting at BCG and also greater pay. Currently making $150k. Should I just stay put? What are the big draws of moving to BCG? Do most firms start reporting years in September or January? Prior firm did an August year for counting hours and then another did January (both Amlaw 200). Looking at an Amlaw 100 to lateral in the fall (so trying to anticipate how much of the year I’ll have). I’ll ask what bonus/reporting year but just curious if most follow the same.

Let's say I can't get a product or marketing job in tech, but I could get in via sales or customer success. Does working in those roles pigeonhole you, or is it easy to switch later? If you take a job as a customer success mgr for ads, or as a partnership mgr for learning solutions for industry X, are you going to get stuck in those products (ads, learning solutions), roles (CS, sales/partnerships), or target industry (X)?

Hi all. Got an offer from Alvarez Marsal PEPI (Senior Associate) and Associate 2 at Kearney. Base is identical, A&M has this unbelievable bonus % so TC is probably higher at A&M. But I'm looking WLB, longer term opportunities, exit opps. What are your thoughts ?
