It sounds like a great opportunity to be honest. Yes, it would be a new role, but you might learn a lot. Frankly, when looking at a new job, the first two questions you should ask are 1) do I like the team, and 2) will I learn more here than my current role. In the current situation, early promotes seem unlikely no matter what your counselor is saying. It’s not their fault, it’s just a matter of the environment. I recommend you take the job.

Not to discount the opportunity here, but early promotes are definitely happening for a lot of people in mid tier firms. Its much cheaper to promote people right now and it might help retain people.

Take it since pay isn’t increasing much or at all in the coming years. When we do get raises it wouldn’t help us “catch up” the pay we would have gotten.

You wouldn’t have interviewed if you weren’t interested. Seems to be great offer so take it,

Hi OP, do you have a heavy experience in tax provision to get the offer? I am looking for exit opportunities as well. Thanks in advance!

Hey ladies! Do you have any tips for salary negotiations? Background: my friend and I left our previous employee to join this new one at the same time. I was offered more than her because of my experience and background. I also negotiated a 5k signing bonus. Fast forward to our first raise, she got a higher percentage than me, but I still made more. We were informed Friday that we’ll be getting a promotion and they offered her 5k more then me. How do I make sure we’re on the same pay level?

My biggest takeaway in 2020: it’s okay to not get that lucrative tech offer or the insane pay raise to afford living in a tier 1 city. Priorities changed from career ambition to personal well being and now I’m moving closer to family where I can afford a home and plan to raise a family with my SO. Being in the city sometimes makes you forget about all the blessings that you already have

Friendly reminder that if your company doesn’t give you at least a 6% raise this year to account for inflation, they’re essentially giving you a pay cut. Time to start looking elsewhere!

I'm getting offer from amazon for Cloud Support Engineer CSE-I and I'm having 4 year's of experience. So the designation is fine or it should be CSE-II? Plus if person join as CSE-I so what'll be the expected hike for getting promotion as CSE-II? As far as I know they don't negotiate for offer so will they provide hike as per CSE-II salary slab or what?
