Alvarez & Marsal I’ve completed all of my interviews with Alvarez & Marsal over a week ago. They informed me that the team debrief to make a decision was the day after my final interview. They’ve now reached out to schedule a 20 minute phone call with the Senior Director of Operations. Are they hoping to ask more interview questions or do they want to talk logistics before making an offer? Just curious what my chances are of getting an offer since I’m waiting to make a decision on other offers.

Cisco interviewed me for 3 months for a couple of roles and then offered me comp that is considerably less than my current comp for a product manager role!! They also said its cisco policy to not offer rsu for mcol cities. Rsu is apparently only meant for candidates in hcol cities.
Need to punch a bag every day for several days to get over this bs.

What I do in my resume is list both, e.g. “Consultant (UX Designer)” so that there’s a more descriptive version that better communicates what I actually did
I want to make sure my experience level translates to industry recruiters
Consulting isn’t that opaque with titles and most recruiters have a pretty good sense of where you are in experience levels based on resume details etc.
Downside of someone spotting or knowing you’ve changed it doesn’t seem to outweigh the upside for me.
If your new company runs a background check, the title on your resume and probably LinkedIn need to match what your employer will say.
Describe the role you played to explain this to tell it to a recruiter. Don’t lose an opportunity over falsifying your job title.
Given background check happens after you get the offer, I’ve had experiences where I saw the check not match 1-to-1 and they didn’t care, or they asked about it also. Just to provide the flipside .

If the titles mean different things depending on the firm, what would you put to make it more clear? I think an example here would be more helpful.
If I were to do anything, I'd probably put my official title and the clarifying one.
I think I'd only change my title if it was more of a variation.
If you're applying to another firm or exiting to pharma, it's possible the recruiter knows the ZS titles and is immediately trashing your resume for the lie. Or questioning everything you've listed.
Are you going to also change the title on LinkedIn (where the recruiter could also see the common titles for the firm)
