I’m at a plaintiff firm in a major east coast city. $155k base, in my 13th year. Have not asked for nor received a raise in my entire three years at the firm. I do get a fairly generous percentage of fees generated on each case, but need stability in income. Should I ask for a raise, or is this not done at plaintiff firms that offer a cut of attorney’s fees?

It's done if you exceed your goals. What percentage do you get?

What kind of law do you do?

I would call it niche premises

What is the percentage? And what region do you live in?

That's a good percentage, you see usually 10-15% in my experience. With that base salary, that's a good situation.

Do you generate any of your own cases? Able to get cases from other lawyers? That's the real way to stability.

Don't forget during the pandemic probably many people did not get a raise. Make sure you don't say you need it because everybody needs more money point out why you deserve it. If that sounds obvious I apologize in advance

Short Term - Bullish above 2997.50. Longer Term - Bearish Below 3034.50.

I am finishing up my second year of practice as a lawyer. I transitioned to plaintiffs pi work from a boutique commercial litigation firm. I like the work and not having to bill. I also take the driver seat for the grunt work on the firms bigger cases which are at or near 7 figure value. I constantly feel (cont.)
