Technically the WHO hasn't declared the pandemic over; however, most developed nations have moved to a post-pandemic phase. Some people still wear masks for their own personal comfort. For example, most of my doctor's offices (I live in NY) no longer require masks. But some wear it by choice. The only exception is rheumatology which still requires masks. But remember that some people always wore masks pre-covid (e.g., based on their culture, immunocompromised, etc.).
COVID isn’t over and the fact that everyone is living in this fantasy world that it is, is ridiculous. A virus doesn’t just go away because humans declare it so. The data still shows that infections and complications from COVID are still an issue. Long COVID is especially a huge problem and is mass disabling people. I suggest continuing to wear an N95 in public! You don’t want that mojo.
Half of what you see, a third of what you hear, and 1% of research from people who can make data appear in their favor. I would gladly walk in your shoes and let you show me your proof. You come walk in mine. I will show you my proof.
The public health emergency/national emergency ended in May. That doesn't mean covid is gone though, still around just like the flu. Some people with compromised immune system may choose to wear masks.
Interesting discussion I work in the healthcare and my org has just posted on the topic. As of the first of July COVID vaccination is no longer a requirement, for the existing team. And will not be a requirement for new employees.
Should have never been a requirement to begin with administration should apologize to the ones they forced and back pay for the ones the let go
It's over and we have to move beyond this so we as humanity can evolve to a higher level and stop trusting these systems on Earth that have been enabling us
They remain unaffected because they, and people like us, with common sense, believe in herd immunity. I and my siblings and our relatives had all out major illnesses by 2 years of age to get them over with. We were careful with covid but all got it. Slowly we used anti virals. The ones your unreliable non critical thinking kind wanted. We all lived even the 80- 90 year olds. Never needed vents like you dying vaxxers. Your agenda was and continues to be fundamentally flawed and incorrect.
It’s still around. It’s ripping thru the building I work at but the fully vaccinated are definitely responding to covid as if their immune systems are compromised which I believe the vaccine is responsible for taking the health of otherwise very health elder members of society 80 plus. Getting very ill this go around. Unvaccinated are less severe and shorter duration.
Personal preference. Plus some people are or still go home to individuals at an increased risk for poor outcomes if they catch it. I personally would be more afraid of post Covid syndrome. I’ve seen it wreck havoc on people who had no or few symptoms or those who were otherwise very healthy before infection!
I, as I type, am living in my camper outside my house because my whole family has covid and I do not! It is still out there!
Some employers still require the COVID vax; others don't. I think the COVID vaccine will likely become optional like the flu vaccine. Unless you work in healthcare, then you'd have to wear a mask during flu season.
Still have to get vaccinated if you aren't currently lol for most healthcare jobs anyway. Still having cases in the hospital I work at, so yes it's still 'out there'.
Wait until election season, then I’m sure it’ll magically come back with a vengeance just in time for mail in ballots to be sent out to every man woman & child - dead or alive.
Personally I still wear a masks in public bc I know multiple people that’s had Covid and not died. I don’t believe in getting multiple covid vaccinations and don’t want them. They’re not preventing covid. I limit where I go and estimate how long I have to be in public settings besides going to work. Have a nice day.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' declaration of a public health emergency for COVID expired at end of day on May 11, 2023. Some healthcare facilities still require masks and that's their prerogative. Some employers as still requiring vaccines, which again is their prerogative.
Thanks
It’s not over. It’s a virus l
It’s not over, people wish it was, and others pretend that it is! Many people are experiencing milder symptoms though for various reasons… but there are still instances of people getting really sick and of long covid! I’m still staying vigilant!
