I'm currently around 155k TC, and it's 99% remote (1-2 trips to the corporate office per year). I have close to 20 years experience in supply chain, and have led successful teams on both the technical side and business side. I feel like I can get much higher TC, but I'm not sure if it's possible to do that and stay reasonably remote. I don't mind some travel, just not crazy road warrior life.

Suck it up?

Not sure of your skill sets, but you can make more at a number of consulting firms. However, you will most likely need to travel more and probably work more hours.

Also, comp will depend on where you live.

like

Comp is dependent on where you live and skillset. I got 15yoe and make 240k TC in CA. At some point, I plan to pivot back to consulting.

I’ve been at Accenture for 16 months and I’ve travelled 4 weeks total doing supply chain strategy projects

like

Remote means not at office. So client site is remote. Or do mean work from home? In SC consulting if you expect to work from home, I think you are hitting comp ceiling.

like

Yes, 99% WFH. I'm not saying that's what I'm expecting... That's just my current situation.

Yes definitely jump. I have half your experience and am a few grand below you.

like

Depends on what your cost structure is to maintain your lifestyle and future ambitions. 20 years of experience at that compensation, you’d likely come in as a manager to consulting. You’re rolling the dice on WLB or traveling - could be a lot more hours and travel, could be similar.

Both valid points D1 & SM1. Right now, relocation isn't an option for sure. I have been contacted through LinkedIn in the past about consulting roles, but didn't bite. As far as skill sets, multiple software implementations in the planning space, heavy SQL skills from time spent in technical roles, and management level in planning roles. This is just something that I need to decide what's most important to me and my family.

Thanks for the insight!
