I had final techno manager round which was completed on 30 Mar, and after ugadi holiday, on 6th I have received the positive feedback and confirmation mail and asked to share the payslips and relevant documents. Still waiting for the offer letter. Called HR on 20th April for the updates, she told she is working on my offer and it will release soon. Any ideas on this fishes?Cerner Corporation

All I've ever had to say was this:
"I've had some personal stuff come up that requires my attention. I'll be out of the office from x to x. I'll be able to check my email periodically, but will not be immediately available to respond. I'd be happy to fill in someone and get them up to speed to act on my behalf in case of emergency where immediacy is needed. Sorry for any inconvenience."
You're a creative, aren't you? There are INFINITE excuses you can make to get out of work for 3 days... and I wouldn't say fuck the current job bc your dream job may not work out. Happens a lot in this industry and then you're fucked. Especially when you use dead family members as your excuse #iwouldnthireyou and then #idfireyou
If you really feel is your dream job, you just should be honest with the agency and tell them the true, If it was me I'd say to them - Hey guys, I've always wanted to know more about 'New Agency' and now they are open for a conversation, I'm really happy here (if you are) but I want to have this conversation, if it's ok with you, if not I will regret for the rest of my life. Hope you guys understand me. - I did this in my last agency and now I'm in the 'New Agency' (your dream agency, but mine ;) and still have the doors open to go to my last agency.
Someone that reports into me just used "I threw out my back and have to work from home for a few days" but they have been nonresponsive and I'm 99% sure they're going on an interview.

I did this - told work I was flying for my mom's 70th birthday. doing it on a friday or monday helps as it's more plausible that you're taking a long weekend. and definitely stay off social media and turn off any location services on your phone.
Dude, be bold. Schedule the PTO, tell them you're being flown to an interview. Just be honest. People interview every day. It's not a big deal. What's the worst that can happen?
You are not required to give any explanation for why you are taking a day off.

Migraine has worked for me, depends on your turnover. Agree that if it's two weeks out you should be able to take PTO with a general excuse though.
