I’m recently finished my PhD and the transition to full time work has been overwhelming. How was the transition for you?

I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. Anyone here moved from strategy to account?

I’m currently in the process of accepting a promotion and have a say on the title. I’m moving up from an Enterprise Account Executive/Manager to a KEY Account Executive/Manager. Which one do you think pulls more weight and is more desired/interchangeable in the world of sales and my future career? (Yes I know they’re practically the same thing but I’m a very technical person and title means a lot to me lol)

My background is in tech transactional. I joined a cybersecurity SaaS startup at the end of last year and now also handle more generalist matters in addition to all things commercial-related. I recently started in a sales role. Have a heavy consulting background (20 years) imagine big four and SI experience. Question - from here how easy or difficult is it to move internally. What areas within SalesForce value the consulting skill set. I have managed large teams and P&L of $20M annual. Big name client experience and complex professional services sales and delivery experience with global teams (India, UK, Latin America).

I’ve been a paralegal for about 30 years in private law firmS. As I get older, I feel like it’s time for a semi-career change. Either an office manager position or perhaps a corporate position where I can travel a little since my kids are grown and I’m an empty-nester. Has anyone made this type of transition? Advise welcome. Where do you find the time to get everything done in the day when you have multiple partners, associates and equity partners that interrupt you and want things turned around immediately while simultaneously working on deadlines? I feel like I’m the only one that can’t manage a 70+ case load without letting someone down. I constantly have to say “Can I do this tomorrow?” Etc. I don’t even have time to bill on the clock. What should be the salary for Manager / Sr Manager having 14+ yoe in project/product service operations? I am at 32 lpa which I think is quite low having worked with top consulting firms for close to 12 years.

Maxed out Roth IRA contributions when I wasn't eligible for 2021 (got a salary bump mid year). Do I need to recharacterize? It's a very small account that's been open for only two years. That's the only IRA account I own. Do I need to open a traditional IRA and roll over 6k + realized gains into that account and keep the Roth IRA. Why is it when I owe money to a state from my annual tax filings, if I don’t pay the full amount I get charged interest. But when they owe me, they ask for additional documentation and won’t pay me interest for them stonewalling me. Not much volatility y/y in earnings.

Why did you choose to work in SALT over other areas of tax?

Partnerships need to use market sourcing for purposes of calculating NR withholding tax (though NJ doesn't even call this withholding anymore).

However, for purposes of calculating the NJ distributive share of income, you apply Gross Income Tax (personal income tax) rules, which is 3 factor and includes COP.

If I end up with 0% apportionment under GIT and 10% apportionment under CBT (withholding tax), the partnership pays tax upfront but NRs get 100% refund?

What is the right protocol in this case? Do I owe SS and fica taxes?
