Is the Delta variant causing people who are fully vaccinated to disproportionately end up in the hospital with serious illness?

smart

I’d implore people who are unvaccinated, older, or immunocompromised to be extra prudent now if they are very concerned about COVID risk. They should likely avoid eating at restaurants, public gatherings, etc. Even pre-vaccine last year, it was made abundantly clear that many folks in our society were not going to take this pandemic seriously. Now, many of us who are fully vaccinated are no longer willing to change our behavior to deal with a tiny percentage of random edge cases, let alone to protect the random idiots who are choosing to not get vaccinated. I am in that group. So at this point, if you feel you’re at risk, it’s best that you voluntarily choose to wear a mask yourself, mitigate your own risk, and not count on the behavior of other strangers to protect you. Call that what you will, but it’s the reality.

yeah tech isn’t expecting us to come in until 2022 regardless lol oh consulting

Please take me with you to tech. Don't wanna do consulting anymore :(

I have the same hunch as you OP…but man it’s going to be awkward for all the companies/industries (eg banking) that have sent back to office requirements

I think we're going to see the speeding up of vaccine requirements before we see a reversal back to 100% remote.

Already pushed to January

So my 18yo daughter who just started college texted me that she wants to do solo Europe travel in December and mom (my ex wife approved it). My daughter has traveled extensively in the US and abroad with me. However, she has never traveled even to a neighboring town in the US solo and is just learning what it means to live by herself as a freshman. I'm very concerned for her safety but if I put my foot down, my daughter will detest me. How do other parents in this bowl see the situation?

The fact that I received an email on a Sunday from my senior manager asking me to not take PTO that I've earned and reserved MONTHS ago because of poor planning on his part has officially given me the push to start looking for another job. Even the partner said that it's "very important" that I be available those weeks. I'm going on a road trip with my fiancé to get away from work and have a mental break. I have been working at least 60 hours since February, but now I'm officially done.
