But what if you *are* Partner 1?

I had to switch to part-time, and I do a couple of side-hustles to make up the difference. I am going on 4 years this way which is by far the longest I have maintained anything.
God I feel this deep in my bones! It's been getting worse as I get older too and late diagnosed ADHD and Perimenopause together have really done a number on me. Add in a huge dose of overworking and people pleasing to avoid triggering RSD and it's a great big toxic mess. This is medicated too, I shudder to think how bad it would be without it! I think the answer is to put guardrails in place from the start, almost thresholds that if crossed, something needs to change. This needs to be figured out in the beginning of a new role. I think I've leaned too heavily on the meds, we still need some of the masking and coping strategies too but maintaining them is exhausting of course.
I quit my most recent position impulsively but I was also being overworked, and then my ADHD was starting to show, sprinting, wanting to please my boss, becoming overwhelmed, the phone would ring off the hook, Google chats, emails, and walk ins. I was in overload. I go to work early, stayed late, sometimes not taking full lunch forcing myself to go hard. I just went back on medication, hope it helps. Hard to determine whether or not it was the job or was it me? Maybe both. Thank you for posting, I no longer feel alone.
I really couldn't manage my workload or keeping a job until I found the right medication for me. I know meds are not everyone's preferred method of handling ADHD, but they have made all the difference for me.
I’ve heard that for men testosterone levels have a lot to do with ADHD symptoms too
