My two cents is you need to make yourself standout I.e cold call hiring managers, send LI messages, drop voice notes, etc. 99% of ppl aren’t doing that and if you can highlight that you can do the job before they give it to you you’ll get it 💪
As a hiring sales manager, I couldn’t agree more. You are showing your ability to meet touch stones in the sales journey and selling yourself. This definitely makes me take a closer look at candidates.
What industry?
I don't know fintech, but in legacy tech it shouldn't be hard to get an entry level role at a VAR like CDW
Curious to know, how many sales managers have you reached out to while applying for SDR jobs? What kind of cadences did you put them on i.e. How many cold calls/ cold emails/ touches?
As a hiring manager, receiving a cold enail/LI message from a newgrad looking for guidance/help is way more compelling than seeing a sales cert on a resume from someone I have no connection with. Building a network is the best way to get a sales gig (even entry level). 90% of people won't answer, if that's scary, don't go into sales. If you start actively networking, you're very likely to find success.
Ive worked in Fintech (Merchant Services/Electronic Payments) industry for roughly 15 yrs now starting at the bottom and working my way up through the ranks. If you are well spoken, professional, and willing to be coached, I think you would be hard pressed to find an RSD (regional sales director) that WOULDN'T give you a shot in this industry. There is a lot to learn but it can be VERY rewarding if you 1. sell with integrity 2. learn from the veterans that have been doing it a while. So pay attention. 3. do your own research. There is endless amounts of tutorials on Youtube that you can at least get a foundation to build on when you find the right RSD to work with. If you do those things, there is no reason you can't easily be making 6 figures plus in 6 mos. to a year. Go to some of the bigger companies like Global Payments, Worldpay, First Data. They all have many RSDs looking to build their teams with good reps. Sorry so long but I hope it helps a little.
Please can you let me know which type of sales course you did? Looking to do one too but don't seem to know which one I can go for here in Canada.
No problem!

There are many sales jobs that do not require a degree. I would suggest that you go to the Glassdoor website and put the parameters in the boxes to bring up these types of jobs in your area. If that does not bring up the jobs you like, you can slightly change the type of job you are looking for, or the location that may be the next city over, but still within your drive distance. Also, you can go to Google to find sales jobs in your area. Google may take you to a job board, so be careful what you sign up for, as some job boards are just advertisements disguised as job boards.
