Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

It's possible the job post that seems to be chasing you is a ghost job anyway. Companies will list positions they have no intention of filling, for various reasons. Some are just collecting resumes for their own intelligence collection, some are just trying to look like they're doing well and always hiring. It used to be standard to let people know when a company wasn't interested, but it seems like the standard now is to just ignore people unless they want to call someone in for an interview.
I applied for a position that looked very attractive from the description. Five weeks later I finally speak to the internal recruiter. Turns out they're expecting to pay a salary roughly half what I'm making now. Recruiter was polite about it but basically blamed me for wasting his time.
Where in reality it was the recruiter who wasted your time when they chose not to post the salary range for the job.
Agreed, companies are now just keeping job posts open year around. It allows them to collect the resume and keep a fresh “bench” in case someone leaves unexpectedly. It’s terrible practice for active job seekers.
The job market is very difficult. Be weary of reposted jobs. I applied to a few of them and they are still posted. If you apply, your resume will be stored in the company's ATS. You have to apply to many, many jobs now. Make sure to run your resume and job posting through AI (I used MS Copilot and ask for an ATS score). You want to have over a 90% score to get noticed. Apparently you also need to have your resume evaluated for a score every few weeks to keep up with the algorithms.
