On my wife's insurance and she works for a healthcare company so our insurance is amazing. EDJ options are not cheap.
800 a month for my family. $6,500 deductible and I fund my HSA with another 600 bucks a month.

Isn’t the penalty like 600$ or 3% of income so you can’t just not have insurance as the penalty is outrageous (3% of income). I’d end up paying way more in that situation.
I was paying $1350/mo with a $13k family deductible. Moving to a company with benefits was a factor when I switched
the penalty is 2.5% AGI no cap in 2018.
Ah sorry, 2.5%, thanks. That still ends up being much more than the insurance premium. Crazy.
